A very enlightening blog post

category asheville | copwatch | news report author Wednesday November 07, 2007 09:40author by Ms. annonny Report this post to the editors

Check out this story on Ashvegas blog about a ride-along in a police car. An illuminating piece that gives a firsthand account of watching an APD officer arrest a young black male — who had just been shot at — for a charge of "cussing in the street."

"Doug's flashlight hits the windows and doors as he walks around the place. He keeps walking, but there's a hitch as he listens to his radio. There's been a shooting in Erskine, he tells me matter-of-factly. That would be Erskine Street Apartments, one of Asheville's public housing projects. My adrenaline starts to flow."
