HUD recently announced that it plans to begin the demolition of more than 5,000 public housing in New Orleans on December 15. The demolition of the city's public housing stock is the lynchpin of the manmade shortage of affordable that, more than anything else is preventing 150,000 working class, African-American Katrina Survivors now in exile from returning home. This article contains a call to action to activists in North Carolina and elsewhere in the country to come to New Orleans in December to help build the mass resistance in the streets necessary to stop HUD's bulldozers of ethnic cleansing.
